Voices diagnose tumor

London, England - 19 Dec 1984

A lady in London, England perceived two voices speaking to her, claiming they used to work at the Great Ormond Street children's hospital and wishing to offer help. They initially establishing their credentials by disclosing information she did not know. The lady was concerned for her sanity and visited a psychiatrist, who prescribed antipsychotic medication.

The voices then instructed her to go to an address, and get a brain scan as she had an undiagnosed tumor and inflammation of the brain stem. The scan was taken, and although she was asymptomatic, the diagnosis made by the voices was correct. [1]

Following a successful surgery, the voices told her "We are pleased to have helped you. Goodbye.”

In a later interview, the consulting psychiatrist said the woman believed she was "helped by a guardian angel." [2]
